Shock… Well Mild Surprise… OK No Suprise At All

Category: PersonalChrisM @ 1:37 am

I won’t link to all the previous Paris Hilton stories, just type her name into the search box on the left if you would like to read the older ones. Anyway, there was a massive amount of, well, non-amazement as the LA Association for Deputy Sheriffs claimed she was given preferential treatment.
Apparently, she was given a mobile phone, so she would not have to wait in a line with all the other inmates, who have to wait and queue to use a pay phone. Rather than have some skanky, pre-used prison uniform, she was given a new, unused set, and her mail was delivered personally by a captain, rather than trusting the post to be delivered by another inmate, as is the norm.
OK, the mail part I can possibly see an argument for, but if the mail delivery inmate is chosen for their (relative) trustworthiness, there shouldn’t be an issue. Other than that, if the allegations are true (currently they are refuted by the LA Sherriff’s dept. itself), I sincerely hope the decision makers are chastised. If it can be proven any favours/dollars were involved, the perpetrators need to be fired, with no pension etc.

Paris Hilton In Shock

Category: PersonalChrisM @ 2:00 pm

It seems that the publicity generated when Paris Hilton was released from jail just three full days into her captivity has caused her original sentence of 45 days to be reimposed. When she first went to prison, she was under the impression she would only need to server 23 days of her sentence. Then, due to undisclosed medical reasons, she was allowed to be released and put under house arrest, with electronic tagging.
She was said to be crying and shouting out ‘its not right’ when the judge confirmed she would be treated like any other criminal, and not allowed back into public just yet. Traumatic for her I’m sure, but over all, I can’t really feel any pity for her… anyone would get depressed and stressed at the prospect of having their liberty taken away. Just because you have $$$s behind you is no reason to be treated differently.

See here for a previous post on her punishment for repeatedly driving whilst her licence was suspended, after she had been caught drink driving again.

Paris Hilton Receives Relief

Category: PersonalChrisM @ 2:47 am

whilst the rest of the world does not manage to sound at all shocked.
Yep, after serving just THREE days in jail, Paris Hilton has been released from prison, and put under house arrest.
The reason? Undisclosed medical issues apparently. If this had been ANYONE not in the public limelight, her treatment would have been very different.
If the medical reason was physical, the prisons have their own medical centres, or if they couldn’t handle the issue, guards could have secured her at a nominated public hospital. If the medical issue was a mental health issue, again there are already recognised systems in place to handle inmates, without just releasing them.
Her lawyer complained she was spending 23 hours a day in her cell.
AND? How is that different from anyone else who repeatedly gets drunk, drives her car, even when her license has been revoked?
Anyway, onto other things, that will hopefully annoy me a little less…
