First-ish Faltering Footsteps
Another video shot on Irina’s birthday (31st of January), here we have a quick clip of Anna munching on some fruit, and continuing to practice walking around. There were definitely not her first steps, but you can see how the experience is still relatively new to her. Towards the end of the clip you can see Losha, Ira’s Dad, Zakhar, Rossita, Balzhan and Dr Natalya.
Which reminds me, no idea when it will be broadcast, but Karra will probably be filmed tonight for a piece in Astana’s (as in the TV channel, not the city itself) news program. Something to do with black cats not being unlucky! (The reminder being that Balzhan is the reporter involved).

Anna Loves The Lens!
OK, make that three posts, not four. These shots were taken in John’s studio just a little while before we left to travel back to Kazakhstan. I’ve included quite a few here as it took me a long time to whittle down the selection to this many! Oh, 26th of March was the exact date, included in this post, as I want to update Anna’s blog sometime and have the imported posts use the actual date of the photos, not when Anna’s lazy busy Daddy managed to upload and publish them. Our huge thanks to John for taking all the photos he did, and also to Anna for behaving well and sitting still long enough to actually take them.

Painswick Gardens
As I mentioned in the previous video, Dad, Irina, Anna and I went for a walk around a large garden on the 14th of March. Anna managed to walk around quite a lot of the grounds, the rest of the time we took turns in carrying her. She really seemed to enjoy looking at all the different flora around, and other than the fact that the entrance fee was pretty steep it was a pretty good afternoon out. I am already looking forward to when Anna is a little older, and going back there when she can hopefully appreciate it even more. I’m also hoping we’ll be able to go and visit the tree that was adopted for her. We recorded the exact location via GPS, as well as quite a few photos, so we will be able to point out the exact tree to her 🙂

Walking Around Painswick
The next day (the 14th of March) we went for a walk with dad around a garden and the grounds of a big house in Painswick (and also popped across from a pub to check out the Painswick Church And Yew Trees). Stood amongst a sea of Snow Drops (assuming I’ve remembered the right name for the little white flowers?), and then panning to the little maze, which was created to celebrate the 250 years of the garden/grounds being around. A little later we went for a walk around Painswick Church, where (depending on the local stories you believe), there can never be more than 99 Yew trees, you can never count them all in one go, and/or the trees also move around!

Blurred Vision BEFORE The Pub
Before we headed off to a pub in the countryside for a meal, Aunty Chris and Bob came in to Dad’s house and Anna seemed very happy to have a fresh audience to perform in front of 🙂
It was the 13th of March, and as Dad was driving, I was able to have a few drinks in the pub. This isn’t the reason for the somewhat blurry nature of this picture – for some reason there was a lot of digital noise in it, and this was the best compromise I could come up with…

Anna’s Airport Breakfast
Once again I’m combining a few posts into one, as they are on similar themes, and don’t really need to push the older posts off the front page so quickly.
This first post are of a couple of videos we shot whilst waiting for our flight in Astana airport
Ira’s Dad decided it was time for us all to go and check in, though we wanted to wait for Anna to finish her breakfast first. Anna saw him walking away and ripped her bib off, which sort of made our decision for us!
Oh, I realise that this isn’t really an “Eating Out” sort of post, but it gives you a quick glimpse of the cafe located on the second floor of Astana airport.
