Dad Don’t Moan – The Other Ones Had Stranger Looks!

These ARE photos from a day that has already been posted about – 25th April when my brother, Nick, and Dad came over to Wales for a birthday meal. We went to an New York-Italian restaurant, and I loved the food and company. For complicated filing reasons, these photos aren’t residing in my ‘not yet published’ folder within Anna’s archives, so I wanted to post the pictures now, so I can close a Windows Explorer window I’ve had open for a few days as a reminder to publish them.

Flowers And Feet

First we have a shot of the bouquet of flowers/clothes that Nick and Roz sent to us back in Wales, and then a shot of Anna’s feet with Ira’s my hands, back on the 5th of March. Again, the second shot was taken in John’s studio, but I don’t think I’m breaking a publishing embargo 🙂 , as looking at the different shots, I don’t think this one will be used in the book.

Nick And Anna

As you may remember from older posts, my brother Nick came up to see Anna not too long after she was born. Here we have some photos from that weekend. You can probably guess who the two people are in the pictures, but the bouquet in the 2nd shot, with a more detailed look in the 3rd, may require some explanation. The brilliant present from Nick and Roz were not in face ‘real’ flowers, but baby clothes cleverly packaged to look like them.
We apparently have some better pictures of the gift, but as I am posting these catch up photos in chronological order of when they were taken, you’ll have to wait until I get to that folder.

The (Not So) Young Ones

We are not normally so dark in our colour choices, but as we were asked nicely, and John knows his photography, we agreed to scrabble around and find black items of clothing that at least looked neat and tidy 🙂
btw, Nick’s beard was shaved off for Christmas, in an attempt to make his girlfriend even happier 🙂 I’ve only uploaded a low-resolution version, as John may want the original for his site.

Betwixt Xmas And New Year

So here we are at that time of year where people often seem to need a few days recovering from the Christmas celebrations to prepare for New Year. Life has carried on as normal here we saw Dad a couple of times before Christmas – Nick was over here in Clydach with his girlfriend, and then returned to her Mother’s for Christmas Day itself. The first time, I believe, he hasn’t been with us. We had a great day despite his absence, with the usual leisurely pace being taken. Dessert was finished by evening though, so compared to years gone past, we did well. I hope to add a few more photos to the blog later, as John has been taking some shots of us in his studio. Other than that, yes I still owe you readers a Jimi wallet and phone holder review. (Short version is the Jimi is great, and the cradle mostly fine).

Friends Roundup

KZBlog has recently started posting again, following a break. You can catch up on the first podcasts in Kazakh, the state’s reaction to people demonstrating and attempting to invade a mayor’s office and finally a piece on the Religion laws currently being considered by the president, including what is possibly the first publication of the American Kazakh Embassy’s reaction to criticism of the restrictive regulations.
Also, Alex has started blogging again regularly – her birthday last month is covered, as well as her new job, her new place (see here and here), a great Christmas novelty find, and a post on Nick and Roz’s visit to her place.

Last Minute Posting Woes

Posting of the parcel kind that is,nothing to do with blogging. Although the vast majority arrived on time, a present for Nick and Mum’s new TV haven’t arrived. Nick is here with his girlfriend Roz until tomorrow early AM, so we just have to hope the courier arrives before they leave. The tale of the television is a little more complex – the original one developed faults very quickly, and the replacement has been delayed by a few days and a lack of communication from the ebayer. I haven’t forgotten about the HTC TyTn II (Kaiser) radio car mount or Jimi wallet reviews – I need to collate my thoughts and check the photos John kindly took.

Nick et al Off To Australia

This Wednesday my brother, Nick, is going to Australia with his girlfriend, Roz, and her mum, another Chris. They will be back by Christmas, but not before Irina and I return to Swansea this mid-November (more on that later).

As I was going through the almost year-old photos on my phone (I really need to sort and post them more often than that), I found this one of Nick and Roz, just after Christmas last year at Mum’s.
