These pictures were shot in Evesham, at Dad’s house, on the 2nd and 3rd of May. This was our last trip before heading back to Kazakhstan, though we did also spend some time in Cheltenham on the 3rd.

Dad Don’t Moan – The Other Ones Had Stranger Looks!
These ARE photos from a day that has already been posted about – 25th April when my brother, Nick, and Dad came over to Wales for a birthday meal. We went to an New York-Italian restaurant, and I loved the food and company. For complicated filing reasons, these photos aren’t residing in my ‘not yet published’ folder within Anna’s archives, so I wanted to post the pictures now, so I can close a Windows Explorer window I’ve had open for a few days as a reminder to publish them.
wow, just looked at the photos properly – Anna looks so tiny in comparison to now, sat in her car seat there!

Driving Home For Gold
I watched the highlights from today’s F1 race earlier on (closely followed by having an unexpected ‘nap’ on the sofa… thirty years old tomorrow, and already acting like a grandad 🙂 ), and was most impressed with the drivers’ skill in negotiating high speed corners in incredibly wet conditions. When we drove back from London last week, I actually pulled off the motorway and hid from the rain in a service station, the visibility was so bad! The thought of driving at three times the speed, with other people trying to beat me in a race is a little too much. Am I completely out of touch with F1 these days, as it looks as though Ferrari doesn’t see podium finishes way too often now. Is this just since the much-publicised rule changes, or just a general down turn in their fortunes? I’m sure that if SheilaB from my old work is reading this, she will be able to give me the full run down…

First Night Away
I returned from Cirencester today, having been at a party. My first evening and night without Anna’s noises in the background, nappies to change, and hugs to bed had was quite a strange experience. I couldn’t wait for her to wake up from her snooze when I got through the door.
ChrisD’s visit at the beginning of the week was all too brief, however it had been a long time since we had seen each other, so it was good to catch up, and synchronise video downloads etc. He finally has a driving license, and borrowed his Dad’s mini to drive down. I’m hoping we took a few shots, as it certainly stands out well!
Con is leaving for Thailand and Australia in nine days, so the party was partially to give a good send off; most of the night was a good experience, and it wasn’t until some guests refused to leave that things got aggravating. The cellar was used for the DJs & MCs to perform, whilst the kitchen, as ever it seems, had a solid core of people in it mostly. Once I’d grabbed some sleep, I set off for Clydach whilst there was still some light left in the day, and was pleasently surprised to find really light traffic on the roads. Which meant driving, at no more than 70mph obviously, was a breeze.
Anyway, enough of this catch up post for now, I’m off to find some more pictures to post of Anna…

Anna’s Adopted Tree And Torchwood
Dad came over again to see Anna on the 27th March, and we went to pick a tree in a newly planted forest-to-be that Anna’s Great Aunty Chris (on Dad’s side) had adopted on her behalf. After we all managed to meet up (which reminds me, I still need to find a good recommendation for a GPS unit for Dad), we took Anna’s pushchair off the beaten track for the first time, and found the saplings (is that the right term? Baby trees basically). Having marked off the exact point on TomTom, we took a few photos, went for a walk around the countryside in that area, and then went off to find a nice place to have a pub lunch. After that we headed into Cardiff, as despite family living there, Irina and I hadn’t been around the city at all, and I’d not been to the bay area at all since it has been redeveloped. Once there, we had to take the obligatory photos next to one of the fictional entrances to the Torchwood Institute, went for another wander, then had a nice drink by the sea.
In years to come, I hope we can take Anna back to the forest, and show her the tree slowly maturing into a unique feature, just as she will 🙂

Drive And Walk Or Just Walk?
As I look through the blindsin the upstairs study, I see a green hillside covered in mist (or is that fog, I can never remember when to use each term), but no rain yet. Irina originally wanted to drive down to the coast, over by the Mumbles and go for a walk with Anna. I’d prefer a walk down to the local mini-park, as sod’s law dictates that the moment we’ve finished getting ready for the car, driven down and parked, that worse weather will hit. Conversely, if we do decide to just go for a local walk, the weather will probably quickly change for the better and glorious sunshine will bathe us all… Things still needing to be done today (I’m hoping that publicly posting this will be enough of a catalyst to actually get on with the day 🙂 ) are faxing a copy of our marriage certificate overseas, going for that walk, fixing Dad’s computer (I think he has two antivirus clients running concurrently, and helping John with both his old and new blogs, and checking his gallery is set up OK).

Helping Dad Out
Taken on the 7th March, here we have Anna helping me with some research on the PC. Despite her snoozing-like appearance, she is simply in deep thought about which articles to link to that day.
