‘Amateur’ sailors will soon have to adhere to the same laws, relating to alcohol levels in their blood, as drivers.
A spokesperson for the Department for Transport has announced that the limits recently bought in for professional sailors will now cover ANYONE involved in the navigation of a vessel thats longer than 23ft, and can travel at more than seven knots.
Not quite so relevant to Swansea based mariners, but jet-skiers are not yet similarly restricted, but this may not last long.
