You may well have high tech accessories in your car, but does it have a margarine tub holder? http://t.co/bjUtxkAV

Cup Holder? Pah! It Is A Margarine Tub Holder, Obviously!

Is this your car? Very swish, no mine doesn’t have a margerine holder, nor a cup holder… yet! I’m waiting for Mat to make the same modification on the new Sierra as he did on the old, i.e. screw one onto the central console somewhere.
I’m guessing this is just a very large cup holder? Or a pretty small tub of margerine?

Yes, it is the Suzuki SX4. The tub is pretty small – they only sell them in 250g units, at least of the margarine I like. The cup holder isn’t that huge, it can take a one litre bottle OK, but anything wider doesn’t stay upright.

      47 days until I take off 🙂 🙂 🙂

Ahh, that’s a pretty good size though. Some in-built drinks holders can be a little limiting in the size they will hold.
Yes, wow – less than 7 weeks til you arrive, that’s 6 weeks and 6 days – heaps better sounding than 10 weeks. See I told you it would go quick 🙂

True. Last ticket bought yesterday. It will be about 48/49 hours from my front door to yours! I’m going to do a trial run of fitting in all clothes and gadgets into my hand luggage bag. Remember my old school rucksack, Eurohike or something multi-coloured thing? Still going strong! Much to Ira’s chagrin.
Still need to buy a couple of books (discovered our local branch of Meloman (a bit like HMV/Virgin) has a fair selection of English language books, and not much more than 100% mark up. The hope is that a couple of books and the hours of UK radio podcasts that I’ve yet to catch up on will help keep me awake during the 27 hours of waiting around in Kazakh and Chinese airports! Mind you, possible I’ll be able to see a couple of friends in Almaty; not seen them in a while, and I have around 9 hours to kill there.
Also need to add to my MP3 player’s gym playlist – if things get really bad (in terms of nodding off) I’ll see if the Urumqi and Guangzhou shops sell something like Red Bull, whack on the high BPM tunes and imagine I’m working out and therefore must not sleep 😉
          44 days now…

I remember your rucksack being red and black? Maybe I’m not remembering correctly at all. Wow – I have been through so many since school, am on my second one since Australia. But then I do take it everywhere with me 🙂
You sound very organised but is it really that important you stay awake all the time? I know me and Mat have slept at airports before. If you make sure you sit/lie somewhere next to everyone else on your connecting flight then the mass upheaval when it’s time to board should ensure you wake up in time.

Ah, the red and black smaller one. Think that finally died in the fourth year. This one survived the last year of GCSEs, sixth form, Cheltenham parties, University study, work and parties, and every trip abroad since then 🙂

Awake all the time – Irina will never let me forget missing a few flights in 2001 pre-Wedding, Amsterdam airport. Which to be fair, was a major feck up of mine at the time. I also sleep very deeply. If I can sleep through Tim screaming at the top of his lungs, a foot or two from my ears, I’m not sure people moving towards the gate will do the trick!

All will be OK, I’m sure 🙂
