AntiSceptic’s Weekly Recap – May 25 2009

Category: Xbox 360 UpdatesChris' Xbox 360 @ 2:00 pm

Ok, here it is… your weekly recap of gaming: AntiSceptic played 2 days last week… pretty solid I guess… I’m not feeling that picky lately. Our gamerscore saw a 140 point boost which is good. I guess that is what completing 8 achievements can do! Oh, and AntiSceptic seems obsessed with puzzle games lately… You can tell because Zuma was the favorite last week. He played it on 2 of the days.

And that’s all I got. I’m not a writer… just an Xbox.

Caught Up With Shameless

Category: PersonalChrisM @ 1:08 am

Irina and I have finally finished watching series four and five of the UK TV series Shameless. The drama has been maturing, and the writer doesn’t yet seem to have run too dry with ideas for plots. Whilst some elements have seemed a little out of character, for example Norma has become a lot weaker in terms of self esteem and mental strength. Overall though, we’re really looking forward to series six. To keep us going until then, we have series one of House MD (thanks Oleg), and a bunch of films. One of which is Sicko, Michael Moore’s film on healthcare around the world, especially in America. I did a little research and found out that some people take out policies to cover what their Medicare insurance does not.

Zen in the Art of Writing

Zen in the Art of Writing – Ray Douglas Bradbury

If you’ve read either of the two Bradbury books that I’ve mentioned, or you are considering becoming a writer yourself, this book may well interest you.
The subject of writing is analysed (as well as a fair amount of self-aggrandising) and covered quite well. He makes mention of quite a few of his previous books, and just how he managed to write them, dealing with the typical gamut of writers problem – mental blocks & lack of faith in one’s self.
If you’re not interested in writing or didn’t like his books, you can safely give this one a miss.

For any readers who’ve come across this blog recently, this is an entry reviewing one of the books that I’ve read since coming to Kazakhstan, if you’re interested, you can see a list of the recent ones here:
