I Am Not Mad

.. or at least this site provides no proof of any such claim… JohnK (and probably Mum) thought that the XBox 360 related posts that have recently started appearing here were written by me. This led them to consider if I was cracking up. To clarify, any post that starts with “by Chris’ Xbox 360 in: Xbox 360 Updates” is NOT by me. I tend not to write about myself in the 3rd person 🙂

I had hoped my previous explanation (and the fact that these posts didn’t say by: ChrisM, but Chris’ Xbox 360) would have reassured people, but I’m guessing they skimmed that original post 🙂

Flying Soon, Sleep Sooner Hopefully

So, five hours until I need to get up and help prepare and Anna for the beginning of our journey back to Kazakhstan, and I still have a few things to complete. I have tried to leave Mum and John’s PCs in a fit state, with essential updates installed, and useless applications removed (useless in that they won’t be used by anyone else whilst we’re back in Kazakhstan). Having run out of space on my newer portable hard drive, I am left hoping that the older one has enough space left to copy files over to. The oldest drive (itself donated by ChrisD) has been passed onto Con, who had a greater need than I. (Hope your time in Thailand goes well, and that you fall off no more motorbikes). I hope that within a couple of months of returning to life in Kazakhstan I will have time to complete a few side projects, like checking out the Merriman ancestral history – I would be interested to see if all the people with a surname of Merriman are actually related (found a few more via Twitter recently), and whether there was any sort of pattern in our interests/jobs etc. Am I alone in my speciality of Tech Support, or are there other Merrimans who enjoy creating analogies to assist confused people when it comes to techy jargon?

Last Few Days…

of British photos, before we move onto the catching up of non-Twitter photos taken here in Kazakhstan. If I don’t complete those tomorrow (possible as we are popping to the doctors), I’ll take my hard drive over to the in-laws this weekend and try to complete uploading and at least drafting the posts there.
This was taken on the 10th May, and looking back at how small Anna is, it seems impossible this was only 2 months ago!

Thank You Everyone

I’m currently a little too pished to type out a proper post, but I just wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone that has taken the time to e-mail/facebook/skype birthday greetings & congratulations. I will try and reply properly to everyone over the next couple of days, but in the mean time THANK YOU.
Everything is fine here, I have spent the day with Ira & Anna and Mum & John in person, and others via online messaging etc. having a good time, and being congratulated on my 30th birthday. I did try and stay sober for AlexC and Seb’s arrival, but they were unexpectedly delayed, so I’m no longer 100% compus mentus. Hmmm, firefox UK dictionary not helping me with Latin (Greek?), sorry.
Brilliant day, superb company, really good to hear from everyone.
Apparently friends have arrived, so I’ll sign off for now. Thanks to all the family and friends that have passed on good wishes and sentiments, most, most, MOST appreciated.

Where Is Anna?

Or more precisely, I’m guessing some relatives are wondering where the new Anna photos are. With Mum & John away in Spain still, doctor’s appointments for Anna, Pip and Con coming last weekend, ChrisD hopefully coming tomorrow, and a party in Cirencester this Saturday night, it is entirely possible you’ll need to wait until Sunday for updated photos, sorry.

In the mean time, Con is still raising money for ~~the hungry and homeless~~ his trip to Australia. See previous posts linking to his massive vinyl collection sell off, DJ decks auction etc. He is now clearing out his a lot of his carpentry toolbox, so should you need a jigsaw (4340FCT Top handle Jigsaw), a router (of the wood variety, not networking 🙂 (BOSCH POF1200AE)), a circular saw (Ryobi WS6613), or a Planer (Makita 1902), head on over to the e-bay auction page here.
