Sleighs And Borsch

Wow, just noticed that the picture gallery problems I’ve had with WordPress for months aren’t as bad as I thought – it appears that if I just wait a few extra minutes, the photos are actually properly linked to the post involved. Anyway, here we have Irina and Anna enjoying some fresh air in the garden, and also Anna seeming ecstatic over more messy food fun.
Oh, and the pictures were shot on the 6th of December, just before the International Winter Bazaar.

Playing In Our Flat

Back on the 4th of December, we have a tall Anna who goes onto clamber over the cushions, complain about not being allowed to hammer away on the keyboard (just to balance out the constant pictures and videos of Anna smiling and being good natured), Anna discovering that we hadn’t yet managed to find all the items that should be moved to higher shelves (the camcorder still seems to work), and unexpectedly not pulling the router down. Or if you prefer a slightly less long winded version, here is Anna playing in our flat.

Swinging In The Winter(ed) Garden

I was either not there that day (29th November), or asleep at the time, but it looks as though the following shot was taken from our bedroom window at the in-laws’ place, zooming in on Babushka and Anna playing on the swing in their garden. Not sure exactly what has Anna’s attention, it may have been Aynak, their guard dog. She already understands that Anna is not a burglar, and therefore shouldn’t be eaten. (Obviously we don’t leave her alone with the dog, but it is good to know that Anna isn’t viewed as some sort of mini-threat 🙂 ).

Messy Eating Again

I’m sorry if you are bored already of seeing Anna eating food in a messy manner, but to be honest most of these Anna photo and video posts are for friends and family who want to occasionally check in on how she is doing.
If you are looking for posts on other themes, I’d recommend checking out the Topics widget in the 2nd sidebar, and clicking around. Once I’ve caught up to real-time posts of Anna’s exploits, I’ll hopefully be posting more Kazakhstan/Astana and weird news items once again.
Anyway, back to this post… the 29th of November saw Anna once more eating a borsch-like meal with her hands, as being spoon fed is apparently just so passé already!

Talking, Tidying, Tittering And Polar Bears

Standing Awake

When Anna has finished sleeping, often before she even starts making any noises she will tend to stand up in her cot, especially since she has found stability whilst upright. We took a couple of shots (on the 20th of November) of the typical scene we encounter when entering her room to take her out of bed…

Finger Food Fun

Anna had already decided by the 18th of November that being spoon fed all her food was not the way to go, and that food should usually be manually inspected before being allowed past her lips. She has purées less often now, and quite often has what we are eating, if there is no salt or sugar added, or high in the ingredient list of the original parts of the meal.
