As I write this (8th January) the temperature has dipped back to around -31 degrees Celsius, but back on the 17th of December, it was only around minus 15 to 20. Anna still needs her fresh air, so when the weather permits, we try to take her for a walk in the pushchair, or on days when the snow is too deep, for a push in the sleigh. That day we were walking to the local shop and back. She wasn’t happy by the end of the trip, however I was (other than wishing I could do something to make her happier), as we were restocking beer supplies 🙂

Eye See You
The day after Oleg visited (making it the 16th of December), Irina and I were looking at some photos of Anna on the TV. For some reason I took a zoomed shot of her eye, and thought it looked good.

Anna And Oleg
The 15th of December saw Oleg arrive, after a gap of around two years since we had last crossed paths in the real world. This post contains images we shot on our camera from the evening. In the next post, you can see Oleg’s somewhat higher quality photos, that you may already have seen over at John’s blog.

Two Spoon Anna
The WordPress image upload gallery function is playing up once more, but this time waiting around doesn’t seem to have magically re-attached these images to a post, so back to individual posting again.
Anyway, the evening of the 15th of December saw Oleg arrive, and before he got to ours, Anna had her evening meal. She has now started occasionally feeding herself with a spoon (though obviously prefers fingers), and that meal time decided that one spoon was not sufficient to transport the food 🙂

And Cupboard Doors That Open
Since Anna started walking around (sometimes with holding onto furniture, sometimes free-standing), she has discovered the plethora of new and exciting items that open and shut. This has obviously meant that the drawers and cupboards needed to be emptied of sharp things, batteries, small things, breakable things. Well, emptied basically. Anyway, here is a quick clip of her playing with the cupboard in the PC desk. Since it was shot, she figured out that the postcard-sized photos were easily removable from the inside of the door if she just pulled hard enough. Luckily none were eaten before we noticed 🙂

Pots Can Come Together As Well!
Anna has recently started to notice that her stackable pots actually fit inside each other sometimes, and can therefore be put together, rather than only be dis-assembled 🙂 This photo was shot on the 14th of December, the day before Oleg came to visit.

Playing And Dancing At The In-Laws’
Still on the 13th December, first we have Anna discovering again that the cats Irina’s parents’ house aren’t as afraid as Karra and Muska back at our flat. In fact Anna often offers up her greeting of a friendly head butt to the tummy, without the cats running away! Then we have a couple of short videos of Anna dancing in the house, and then a little clapping.

Sleigh Inspection Time
By the 13th of December, it had come to that time of year where responsible owners check the snow-worthiness of their sleigh. Being a good girl, Anna was happy to carry out the basic checks. Requiring only minimum assistance from a kitten, Anna proceeded to give the vehicle a thumbs up.

One Small Step For An Anna, One Giant Leap For… Annakind?
The 12th of December was the first time Anna climbing the stairs coincided with us having a camera to hand. The very first time she conquered the stairs it was entirely a surprise, she had just been tottering around the ground floor entrance hall, and decided to try getting upstairs to the living room. I stayed close with my arms at the ready, should she lose her balance, however no assistance was required 🙂
