Indian Medical Students Like Kazakhstan
An article I’ve had sitting around in my inbox waiting to be posted on. What’s interesting about this article is that Kazakhstan is popular among Indian students, although the main point is that the Medical Council of India has tightened restrictions for students who study abroad.
It’s a bit sad that Almaty Medical Institute, one of the best medical schools in Kazakhstan, is viewed as a cheap and less challenging alternative to Indian medical schools. But then, Indian medical schools are trying to compete at a world class level and it’s still a good source of potential income and even a chance to steal some top Indian students for Kazakhstan!
It is inspiring that students from other countries still find KZ education level acceptable. From my point of view, this level degrades rapidly as the bribery becomes common phenomenon, as the universities are striving to get more students (including oralmans without culture of living in cities) and not to increase the educational level and as number of teacher who graduated in Soviet Union era declines. How can we speak about the level of education when the diploma can be bought any time you want and the procedure is very simple? Moreover this diploma will be almost a genuine one as you will be included in all the archive documents and databases. Shame on Ministry of Education and our leaders who are ruining the history of once great educational system. For justice’s sake, the Russia nowadays is doing very bad too…
Corruption in education is a huge problem. Among other things, I would be scared to have surgery here because I don’t know if the doctor is genuinely well-trained or just bought his medical education. Of course, Kazakhstan isn’t the only country in the world with this problem by any means.
