Kazakh authorities,if u r going2b dumb enough2think that blocking WordPress.com blogs=prevent info sharing, block individual accts.

    Its annoying that this extreme blocking is used, believe blogspot (google) has also been blocked,amongst other google services and has been for a long time. Especially annoying this week when only trying to activate wordpress related plugins, requiring signup to the WordPress.com site, i.e. I’m not even blogging at wordpress.com !!, but still can’t create a new account.

    What do you mean by ‘block individual accounts’, you mean ‘individual blogs’ ?

      Did you try Opera’s Turbo mode yet? Yes, I meant individual blogs.

        Yep, blocking individual blogs would be much more sensible, but decision based on emotion no doubt from someone high up with little understanding/appreciation of how site is set up, “that’s it, no more of this, block entire web site …”

        re “Opera Turbo”, no didn’t seem to work in the end, but eventually managed through another Proxy.

          Hmm, I checked and akismet.com/signup/ isn’t accessible normally, agreed, but using Opera’s turbo mode, it loaded up fine?

    yep, just confirmed it works as well ?!!! tried loads of times last week with it and no joy !! oh well, I have found another reliable fast proxy so worth the hastle 🙂
