Melnitza
We haven’t been back there in a while, but last year (the 23rd of June 2010 to be precise) Ira’s parents came with us to Melnitza, the Ukranian restaurant about 10 minutes walk from us. Straight away Anna seemed to like the place again, and a passing waitress was picked out by her to be picked up by. We haven’t been back there this year yet, but I’m hoping we will sometime this summer.

Duman Playtime
The following Tuesday Irina and I decided to take Anna to the Duman centre. Not the hotel and gym building, but to the aquarium/entertainment centre. We still haven’t taken her around to look at all the fishes yet, but that day (22nd of June 2010) we had a look around the other attractions. Thinking about it, there were a few goldfish in the little indoor stream they have around the restaurants, but we didn’t pay to go into the aquarium itself. Anyway, after walking around a little, Anna had a go on one of the little rides, then we headed over to the small children’s area. You pay for a block of time, and they can run around and do what they want. This was her first time in a ball pit I think, and she seemed to enjoy it. After a while she stopped running around, and spent some time at the little children’s desks and played for a while.

Father’s Day 2010
The 20th of June 2010 was Father’s Day (unlike Mother’s Day, Britain and America seem to use the same date), and I had a lovely surprise from Anna (with perhaps a little bit of help from Irina 🙂 ). I was given a lovely hand made card with her hand print on the front, and a t-shirt that you can see below. As it was another lovely weekend, we sat out in the garden, with Anna enjoying the fresh air and running around. I can’t remember right now if I’ve already published photos of Anna’s paddling pool, but you can see it below. I’m hoping this year to try and get Irina and her parents to accept the fact that children who have normal cool tap water in their pool don’t get pneumonia, and that hot water isn’t totally necessary, especially on hot days, but I have the feeling this could be a long discussion!

Strawberries & Windmills
A week later we were in Chubary again. The nice weather seems to have continued (Anna is wearing a sun hat and isn’t being told it is too cold for shorts, so I’m assuming it was nice and warm), and it looks as though the strawberries had already ripened.
The other photo shows one of Anna’s current loves – windmills. I need to go and check that is the right name in English. Anyway, she has a lot “planted” in the garden now, around her play area, and it doesn’t seem to take too much of a breeze to get them spinning madly. Even prettier if you’ve had a few drinks first. From MY experience that is, not Anna’s 🙂
