Black And Other Colour Cats

Category: In The Media,PersonalChrisM @ 8:45 pm

OK so this post is being typed, whilst I am being filmed for the Astana TV channel. The news program is doing a piece on black cats, and how they aren’t unlucky. He will be filming for about two to five minutes, so I need to actually being doing something whilst the camera is pointing at me. At least it won’t end up like those TV dramas that wind me up greatly by having people pretend to type and just randomly hitting keys on the keyboard. Ah, the camera has stopped, so so has this post 🙂

Hey, speaking of cats check out this story: http://www.benningtonbanner.com/ci_16314052?source=most_viewed
Cool that you were on TV =D big thumbs up for that!

I had to re-read the ” The seats had been urinated on, but Ryan claimed the urine was from her and not the cats,” part a couple of times to check I wasn’t misunderstanding it!
Karra hasn’t been on TV yet, hopefully we’ll get a heads up before hand.

Meant to say, we never passed on those food and drink items when you came over here! I think the chocolate may have been consumed already, you don’t mind if we drink the tea that was ear-marked for you, do you?

It was a good month or two between when I hoped they could be shipped between when I arrived; I had assumed they were long gone. I really wish we would have tried to get more beerka, tea, and canned horse back! One can made it through with no problems so next year I’ll definitely try for more.
btw wonder if it would show up on kplusTVeng? I haven’t been on their channel in a while.

Glad you didn’t get searched 🙂

If I don’t manage to get a copy of the report from the channel themselves, I’m sure someone will record it from the TV 🙂

Cool, can’t wait to see the clip when you have a copy 🙂 How on earth do you manage to get your fingers into these little pies. This isn’t the first time is it?

    • ChrisM says:

I’ll just have to hope that someone manages to record it from a cable box and then upload it to a new, throw away YouTube account, so if it does get reported, that person doesn’t lose their main account.
I think it is the first time they’ll use footage on a news program over here. I’ve done some voice over work for the President’s media company though. I doubt many people will have seen it over here though (they’ll hear the Russian/Kazakh voice over). Or globally to be honest – I know one of them had a new script ordered by the powers that be, and I was in Britain for Anna’s birth at the time. Given the crap I read out, I’m not too worried – the motivation for that work was purely financial.
You used to be able to hear the voice over work of the British guy who did them before me, on BBC and CNN for Kazakhstan tourism adverts.
How do I do it? Same method as teaching English here. I’m a native speaker of English, who doesn’t work in an office full time, and therefore occasionally in demand!

Oh, and just to clarify/reiterate what was posted in video/pic entry earlier, this came about as the journalist is a friend of ours. I had to pretend to have heard of some weird black cat-based good luck scenarios from the UK. I sometimes help her out with UK-based info, or when she has exceeded her work’s monthly allowance for internet usage! Yep, if she reads too many sites, by the end of the month she is unable to research her stories online!

      • Alex C says:

Ah, yes. Realised this must have been through Balzhan when I read the rest of your posts – I should not read in reverse order next time 🙂
So if you were to record it off tv then upload to your YouTube account it would have copyright issues? That sucks!

        • ChrisM says:

Of course, but I’d never do such a thing, obviously. I’d just look on YouTube for someone with an account that had a completely different name who just happened to have recorded the feed off cable (better quality signal than aerial, around here), via RCA cables into their TV tuner card’s AV sockets. Assuming that person didn’t have a digital cable tuner card. Which I they don’t. And using the TV tuner card to pick up the analogue signal from the cable company (directly, rather than digital signal from a STB) would result in a lower quality rip. Apparently.
