I take it by the name that this pub/restaurant specialises in tv sports?

They have a couple of betting windows (bookies in a big cupboard) in the hallway, and lots of TV screens, often showing two different matches. Their steak sucked, all fat and bone, the menu has been reduced from a bilingual full size, multi-page affair to a single photocopied sheet of paper. Pizza wasn’t available, nor were cheeseburgers. The chips tasted like they’d been fried in incredibly old oil. Other than that, all fine 🙂

DanC is coming back to Astana in April (he works in another city in Kazakhstan right now).
Even if it was me coming back to the UK in April, I’m confused how I’d then NOT avoid a place in Astana 🙂

Oh woops, I didn’t read the comment properly and must have thought you wrote it, not DanC, need more sleep 🙂

Fine for drinks and watching the game still, it was just the food that was a real contrast to previous visits.

Sounds like a plan. I know what you mean with t’other Dan – I’m always planning to have a quiet night just sipping a mineral water, and then suddenly it all goes downhill 🙂
