So here we have the next batch of clips taken from the Astana Day Concert back in July.
The first was shot after the 8th act had finished. We were able to hear a procession some where outside the concert arena, but beyond that, no one really seemed sure exactly what was going on. Eventually, a live audio and video feed was displayed on various screens around the area, so people coudl at least see what was winding its way to us…
Here we have the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, and various other political figures, including some high up person from another stan in our area, all arriving to their VIP area, which was under a big open sided marquee. Towards the end of the clip, you can hear some musicians drum in the carnival procession. Quite whether the President caused the carnival to be delayed, or vice versa, I could not tell…
As it was the President’s birthday, as well as a day of celebration for the city of Astana itself, the marching bands that preceeded the carnival had yet another backdrop of the President doing his leader type jobs on a screen in the background. The drummers at the very top of the stage were certainly visually impressive, though if you check all the videos I’ve uploaded at YouTube, you may well notice their physical actions are not always synced with the drum beats played over the speakers. That isn’t a technical hitch, the same issue was apparent in real life. Still looked good though.
Anyway, thats all for now, I will try and make time later to post some more of these, if not, you may have to wait until later in the week… Try and contain your excitement now ;=P
