OK, so with these photos, it is still April 20 2008, we have arrived in Amsterdam (finally, after connecting flight problems from Kazakhstan the day before), we’ve met some very nice people (fellow Amsterdam forum members) who helped chill me out the day before, and even grouped together to get me a birthday present (I’ll give you one guess 😉 ), found our apartment, been for a walk, and it is now 4.20pm on 4/20 (US date style) , and we’re heading to the 420 cafe to meet up with fellow forum members.
I’ve blotted out their faces, as I’ve not had the time to ask most people for permission to show them yet. If anyone wants their anonymising stained glass window effect either removed, or increased to cover more than just their faces, let me know.
That is the table I was sat at when I proceeded to burn off multiple layers of skin with my new lighter. Apparently a severely relaxed Chris, high temperatures and human flesh don’t mix very well. HUGE thanks to Lemming for taking me to the local chemists and generally looking after me. Obviously Ira helped too, but Lemming was the man with the local knowledge.
Not sure what happened to the rest of the photos from the meet, I may have decided to keep the shots to a minimum, as some people don’t want to be on record as enjoying a schmoke. Anyway, here we have a pavement sign Ira and I found amusing, just outside our apartment. In case it isn’t obvious, it means dogs aren’t allowed to crap on the pavement. I guess Dutch dogs can read from an early age 😉
Finally we have a shot of me meandering down the road, I’m guessing from before the 420 meet, as I have bother hands in my pockets, without a look of pain. The last shot is of one of the styles of rickshaw-like modes of transportation available. More on those later.
