btw just discovered that A Scanner Darkly (the film) is a lot more followable if you’re not drunk at the time. I read the book a while ago, and even Keanu Reeve’s acting is not putting me off this time.

Lol, really? I think I’ve seen that film 3 times now and I still can’t remember understanding it let alone remember the plot now. It’s not that I recall it being bad, just all memory of it has been erased from my mind. Admittedly I think I was a little baked the first time I watched it but still… I must have another go at it some time.

Having read the book definitely helps, and watching it relatively straight would assist I guess. I’m not certain, but I thought the book spent more time at the farm where they grow the nasty stuff.

Ummm, farm? Nasty stuff? All I remember is that there were drugs involved. Everything else is a blank lol!
