This page is basically used to store information, and code that I have removed from this site’s index page.
It may be that the use of scripts increases the load time unacceptably, or that the information retrieved isn’t necessarily suitable for the main page. (That is in terms of relevancy, not in terms of adult orientated content :>).
However, for one reason or another, I’d still like this information to be accessible, so here it is…
First, we have allconsuming.net‘s list of books that I’ve read or am currently reading.
I really like the plugin for this from Ali Hassan, but AllConsuming’s servers simply take too long to respond sometimes, which placed an unacceptable delay on the home page.

Finally, we have a list of the all plugins currently installed and active on this blog. I’ve had to remove it from the main page, as it was adding an excessive amount of outbound links (OBL) there…
I have removed some of the content from this page, as I suspected some of the required plugins were causing issues on other pages.

What is the googly analyticator for? I’m just wondering if I need to install it. Thanks.

It is a site statistics system (and more). The plugin just inserts the necessary code into your template for you, so you don’t have to get your hands dirty, or re-apply it when you change themes.
I already use AWStats, which is part of many hosting companies systems, but Google Analytics can provide a lot more info for you in certain areas, and you can setup stats to be monitored over time, to see if tweaking your site in a certain way actually achieves the intended result.
You’ll need to sign up at http://google.com/analytics .
If you click on the link for the plugin above, he does a much better job than me explaining why you might be interested in it.
PS The next time you choose a new theme for your blog, you may want to either consider a right hand column, possibly one either side – the first time you visit it, the contents of your solitary left hand sidebar delay the loading and rendering of your main content – the posts. Not meant as a snidey remark, just a thought from a fresh pair of eyes 🙂

Whats life really like? Weather the seaons, are there many english people over there? Also accomodation my apartment will be paid for so where are the nicest areas and blocks to live in? Ive seen pictures of the Triumph of Astana but not sure if its in a good area.
Clothes – what ought i to bring? andwhat will I need to buy I suffer from the cold – so what ibudget would I need to bump up my wardrobe roughly?
Do they serve Jamiesons and det coke over there? Can we get satellite tv in the apartments – do some of tehm have gyms inside the blocks – if so which ones should i be looking for?
Have you settled in well? did it take you lon and how quickly did you make friends? I will be moving on my own so im wondering if I will meet english like minded people out there.
