A Promenade Around Cheltenham Promenade
The 15th of March was the day we all went into Cheltenham for a walk around the town centre (Anna still often preferred to have someone’s hand to hold onto when walking around outdoors at the time, and wasn’t shy about letting you know when she had walked far enough, and expected to be carried the rest of the way!). Anyway, the Promenade itself hasn’t changed much in the four years or so since we moved out of Cheltenham to move to Kazakhstan. I think this is FINALLY the last of the UK videos we recorded on our trip over there this year. There are still a few more post’s worth of pictures to publish, but after that we will be into Kazakhstan based pictures and movies.

Painswick Church
After a walk around the gardens in Painswick, we popped into a pub and had a nice meal. Following that, we popped into the church across the road and had a look round. The grounds outside have a lot of Yew tress, that have various stories attached to them. Some people believe you can successfully never complete a count of the trees, or that the trees move around the grounds. Other people believe that whenever you plant a new tree to add to the (apparently) 99 trees already there, an old one will die, maintaining the level at less than a hundred already. As we were walking around with Anna, we didn’t have the time (or motivation to be honest!) to actually count them ourselves. Oh, another 14th of March entry by the way.

Painswick Gardens
As I mentioned in the previous video, Dad, Irina, Anna and I went for a walk around a large garden on the 14th of March. Anna managed to walk around quite a lot of the grounds, the rest of the time we took turns in carrying her. She really seemed to enjoy looking at all the different flora around, and other than the fact that the entrance fee was pretty steep it was a pretty good afternoon out. I am already looking forward to when Anna is a little older, and going back there when she can hopefully appreciate it even more. I’m also hoping we’ll be able to go and visit the tree that was adopted for her. We recorded the exact location via GPS, as well as quite a few photos, so we will be able to point out the exact tree to her 🙂

Mad In Argentina
OK, rather than again forgetting to post about a friend’s site until well after it is properly launched, I thought today I would write about a site that exists but doesn’t yet have any content. One to bookmark (or subscribe to) and wait for new posts in the future. The site is called Mad About Wine, and will be run by our good friend Javier. He runs wine tours back in Argentina, and he will hopefully be posting not only contact details (word of mouth from previous visitors seems to have increased demand), but also some pictures and thoughts about the beautiful countryside, successful vineyards and great people to found down there. At some point, the original Argentinian domain name ( madaboutwines.com.ar ) will also point JavierEppens.com , but first we need to navigate our way around the government run Argentine domain name admin system. Not easy when… a) I speak no Spanish b) A lot of the menu items are labelled with graphics, not text (difficult to translate) c) The admin system itself is quite counter intuitive at points. If anyone reading this has dealt with their system before, and has 10 or 15 minutes to spare, please do let me know.
At some point, when Javier remembers to pass on the user name and password needed, I’ll be importing all the content from his original Mad About Wine Blogspot site into JavierEppens.com . The main reason for moving that data is the warning that you get when entering the blogspot version, and also it looks a bit more professional to have your own proper domain name, and you’re not at the mercy of Google’s policies in the future.

Rescued In Australia
I thought I had already written a post about a site that Con (Hydrophonics is his stage name) has put together. Rescued Entertainment has a lot of information on the artists involved, as well as links to the Twitter and Facebook accounts. If you are in Australia and want a good night out, keep an eye open for the next event that Rescued Entertainment are involved in. The launch party seemed to go down pretty well, as the photos on Con’s own Facebook account show. I’ll check with him before posting the link to his personal account. Anyway you can catch a mix just below this text, and feel free to leave a comment on the FB page, and follow their Twitter account.
