There seems to be some confusion as to whether these pictures, and the soon to be posted video, were shot on the 17th of February or the 16th. In either case, Anna was being given a drum lesson by John, who obviously decided she was not making enough noise 🙂 Despite Anna’s best efforts, she didn’t manage to break right through the drum, and seemed to enjoy herself thoroughly…

Carpet Crawling Cameraman
In case you wanted to see a short clip of Anna taken on the same day (15th of February) as the ROTFTD post, or wondered how John achieved the angles he did, I have good news…
If you do not feel a need to watch such a clip, can I recommend you don’t click the play button above?

ROTFTD
These were shot on the 15th of February, and show a cuddly donkey that Anna spotted, and John bought, on the way back from Heathrow airport to Clydach.
ROTFTD? A bastardization of ROTFL – (Rolling On The Floor Laughing becomes Rolling On The Floor Tackling Donkeys). Anna took a couple of days to become comfortable walking around Mum’s house in Wales (as she had only just started walking unaided back in the more familiar landscape of our flat in Astana). When she had had enough of walking around, she would sometimes totter up to the poor donkey and literally dive onto it…

Love And Forgiveness Day
I know that I have previously posted some pictures that John took and published on his blog, from Valentines Day (14th February), but these also include some shots from our camera. I think in Kazakhstan/former Soviet states that 14th February is Forgiveness Day, hence this post’s title.

Valentine’s Day
As you may have guessed from the title, these clips were shot on the 14th February. We decided to get a bit of fresh air whilst the weather was warm, and so took a stroll around the back garden (back in Clydach, Wales still) path with Anna. She was a little unsteady on the stony path, but decided she was going to conquer it, and only occasionally needed picking up. The only other thing that seemed to annoy her was the bright sun. We did buy her some sunglasses, however the concept seemed silly to her, and they haven’t yet lasted more than five seconds before she rips them off and throws them down.

Pelmeni vs. Ravioli (And Salad)
The 13th of February saw Anna trying the closest alternative to Pelmeni that you can buy in the shops in Britain – Ravioli. It was a kids version (so low in salt and hopefully other things that you should have in moderation), and Anna seemed to enjoy it. I do sometime miss having the sweet tomato sauce when we eat pelmeni over here, but then again tinned ravioli doesn’t really lend itself to frying as well as boiled pelmeni do, so I suppose it is swings and roundabouts.
