More Blogs on the Way?
Following up on the launch of Masimov’s own blog, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan has ordered all the ministers to start blogs.
He apparently sees it as a great way to connect to people and to address concerns. Masimov himself has launched an investigation into the quality of tap water following complaints in comments on his own blog.
Again, you can check out Massimov’s blog. It’s unclear whether government.kz will host the Minister’s blogs or not, but I’ll try to keep on top of this.
Of course the danger of ministers having blogs is that they might end up just repeating the news already available on the Ministry websites: “Today, an agreement was signed between India and Kazakhstan on the subject of participation of Indian oil companies in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.” Or maybe they will end up being more like the average gossip-filled, what-did-I-do-today blogs: “Went to a meeting with KazAgro. OMG! So boring! Sketched funny pictures of all the company directors. LOL!”
