Merry Christmas!
The 25th December is of course Christmas in the US and Europe, as opposed to that heretical Orthodox Christmas who messed up their calendar and therefore have to wait until the 6th of January to get presents!
So Merry Christmas to everyone. May Santa bring you everything you want! May there be peace on earth and good will toward men! May you eat well and not get so drunk you forget what you said to whom! I leave you with my favorite New Year’s decoration. It looks suspiciously like the Golden Man on top of the pillar at Republic Square, except that he’s wearing a Santa hat and carrying a Christmas tree (or New Year’s tree), instead of a bow. It was painted by some schoolchildren on the windows of their school in Astana and I think it’s either the most patriotic or the funniest holiday decoration I’ve ever seen!
