Although not complete yet, I was given a sneak preview of how a new recommend web hosts site would look. Click the link to see the basic idea, where there are currently three such companies awarded the ‘recommended’ status. Had these companies not been known to me, I’d be a little weary of suggesting you visit the site, but as I know two well, and currently use one, I’m hoping the admin(s) good sense will continue in the future. You will also find some web hosting tutorials and articles available, covering useful topics like ‘Cheap Web Hosting - The Signs of a Bad Host’. The site mentions it has been a trusted name since 2002, and if you check with a utility like the Internet Archive Wayback Machine, you can see that there has indeed been a page available at the address for around six years.

Looks like they have 2002 on their calendars. They have a very funny explanation of why Internet is cool and how you can put some information on the web and it will be accessible 24/7. Strange guys, indeed.

Last time I checked in with them, the site was still officially a work in progress…
