So, I still officially have a little Birthday money left over, as I didn’t buy anything whilst in Britain. I thought about getting a DVD video recorder (as in a standalone AV unit, not connected to a PC), or a simple surround sound system setup. Didn’t get either, as in the first case I hadn’t done enough research beforehand to ensure I got my money’s worth, and in the second case, I thought the size and weight of the AV unit, speakers etc. would be way too much for our luggage allowance. Had I been into gambling, I could have looked into poker tables, but as I have always been awful at such games, I decided it would be a bad idea.
