Things Become A Little Clearer

(Mainly USA Relevant)

A Kazakh friend had laser treatment for their eyes, and although the operation went without too many unexpected hitches, they found their sight got worse again after a couple of years.
However it now appears that Lasik treatments have improved, at least according to a recent study. Of course the likely success of each treatment will entirely depend upon the patient’s current eye problems, so it is difficult to generalise, but it was good to hear that not only have the techniques been refined, but that the surgeons involved are now being more selective in who they treat.

This can only lead to an improvement for people with sight difficulties - if the treatment is not likely to work for you, there is no point in spending the time and money having it done. The reports of ‘dry eyes’ still continue in a minority of cases, but if your sight bothers you so much, and you wish to be rid of your glasses or lenses, you need to decide if applying eye drops would be an acceptable compromise. Personally, I’ve been wearing glasses since I was 2 years old, but I have many friends who wish they didn’t need to wear spectacles, and I can see my American friends in this situation being very interested in USAEyes.org
