Didn’t Notice That At First

Category: PersonalChrisM @ 7:07 pm

Just a quick one this time, as I clear out my draft posts. Some of the news stories I meant to write about are well over 5 months old now, so I’ve dumped the lot of them. This however is just a little distraction for when you’re at work and bored in need of some light entertainment. The title of the blog – Photoshop Disasters – should give you a pretty big clue what you can expect to find there. Some of the submissions are subtle, taking a while to figure out just how the photographer/photoshopper went wrong, others are just blatant, and should never have been published.

(Just as with this site, it is worth clicking through to the 2nd and 3rd pages (or more if you have the time) to see some of the older entries.)

Too Much RAM?

Category: In The MediaChrisM @ 12:51 am

Nick Boing The Ram, Cardiff In David Palmer's House

Sorry, feel free to think of a better post title and leave it in the comments section 🙂

So why has a photographer placed a huge sheep (is a sheep that is male only referred to as a ram, or can it still be labelled as a sheep?) in some poor soul’s home? Simple, he didn’t… Nick Boing The Ram actually lives in David Palmer’s house. He was found as a lamb in the Cardiff area, and decided not to leave. Before any animal rights activists get ready to start protesting, the family have tried on multiple occasions to re-home Nick to a more traditional setting, but he doesn’t want to re-assimilate. Check out the BBC report for more details.

Family All OK

Category: Personal,WeatherChrisM @ 2:29 am

Realising that the likelihood of anyone commenting on the post re. Britain’s weather any time soon was slim, I decided to check in with Mum & John, Dad and Nick. All were OK, though John did get a bit blown around by the wind. Probably because he went down with another photographer friend to the Swansea coast to see what pictures jumped out at them.

OK, so that isn’t actually Swansea, its in North Wales, but I couldn’t find any decent shots right now; John’s will probably be published on his blog sometime soon. Anyway, really glad our family seem fine, hopefully friends are OK as well.

Queen Bites Back

Category: In The Media,PersonalChrisM @ 4:35 am

According to a Times Online article, the Queen was not amused at the ‘direction’ given to her by a famous photographer whilst posing. Whether Annie Leibovitz was not properly versed on Royal etiquette, or simply decided to chance it and attempt to push her luck a little too far is not made clear.
Irina and I recently watched the ‘The Queen’ film, and I was actually expecting to not feel any warmth for her majesty, however the portrayal left me re-assessing just how different a universe the Queen lives in, and not just in a positive way. Having to live a large part of your life according to protocol could well leave you feeling prickly when people not close to you make unusual requests.

Tornado near the Caspian Sea 7th June 2007

Category: Kazakhstan,Pictures,WeatherChrisM @ 11:54 am

Irina sent me a few photos on Friday, of a tornado on the Caspian Sea, not sure where exactly.
I would happily give credit to the photographer, but we don’t know who took them. We are assuming it was a worker for some sort of oil-related company based over there.
The tornado is quite visually impressive, click the images below to see a larger version. If anyone is particularly interested in them, I have higer-res versions for the 2nd and 3rd shots – the online versions have been resized and compressed to save my server’s bandwidth.

In this picture, you can see a second tornado, so perhaps cyclic tornadogenesis has taken place – yes OK, I went and Wiki’ed tornadoes, as I didn’t want to appear too ignorant 🙂
