Dr Chad Varah RIP

For those who have never come into contact with the Samaritans, the name may not mean much, but to many others, his life’s work helped them or their loved ones through times of great difficulty. I know from personal experience that having someone to talk to, who will not judge, nor sermonize can literally make the difference between life and death. Should any regular blog readers be concerned, I am not talking about myself, rather a girlfriend from a long time ago, who was at the end of her tether. Without the Samaritans organization, I am not sure she would be alive today. Anyway, as you may have surmised from this post’s title, the founder passed away today. Rest in peace, and thank you…
