With the recent scares in America concerning the amount of drugs and other chemicals in the nation’s water system, I can’t help wondering where things will lead…
If large amounts of hormone treatment chemicals are found (the body does not metabolise all drugs completely before they exit through the traditional toilet manner), could we one day end up with men looking at maternity clothes for themselves, rather than their partners? Perhaps we’ll see the rise of male pregnancy support groups?

No Baize Tables Near You?
With so many offers and new companies springing up every month, playing at an online casino can be a bewildering process, if you do not already have a favourite site. Although I’ve not played cards for money since my school days in Cheltenham, I do occasionally remember playing Bingo back in Bournemouth, and whilst the real world variant certainly (at the time at least) had it quotient of OAPs and was female-dominated, the online versions seemed to have a good mix last time I checked. (OK, so I found a £10 voucher and decided to give it a shot - I’m not ready for the retirement home just yet!). Anyway OnlineCasionBlueBook also have a section specifically for those interested in the best Bingo Introductory Offers. They obviously also have the more popular sections on ‘normal’ online casinos, as well as e-bookies. Not sure if that term exists, or if it does whether our friends across the ocean in America will understand it - feel free to leave a comment if so
If I was to pick out one aspect that could do with some more thought or possibly revision, it would be the graphical look of the blog. Perhaps I just spend too much time on so called Web 2.0 style sites, but the site looks as though it could do with a spot of modernisation. That said, this same look almost brings with it a feel of a committed online casino player offering his experience to others, rather than a highly polished, generic site that is cynically output by some multi-national non-caring company. Finally, the fact that the owner is happy for you to personally e-mail him, should you want further guidance, or a little further clarity bought to a point they raise really does instil some trust, for me at least.
Oh, and there are a couple of “are”s that should “our” - not exactly the end of the world TBH ![]()
Guns Are Bad
… They scare me. They hurt people. They are also good fun. hmmm, spot the conflict here?
Check out this post from 2006 for a video of me not killing anyone with a shotgun. Then watch the following video… I remember from previous research that even semi-automatic shotguns are illegal in some states in America, so I imagine this one will have even more of a problem!
The lack of recoil was particularly impressive - the petite woman firing the gun does not seem to suffer at all; not sure if it would have been a good idea if we’d had such hardware to hand on our trip to the salt water lake in 2006…
Sleeping On It
If any of my American readers can be bothered, could you send me a message explaining why (apparently) platform beds are only just becoming popular in the USA? What sort of beds did you normally sleep on in the past? I’m genuinely intrigued by this one. I doubt you all have futons or bunk beds
Seriously, I did a little googling, and a few sites claimed that whilst popular over here in Europe and Asia, they were only just hitting the big time in America recently?
Not Just B&D!
Back in Britain, there are only a few well known manufacturers of power tools. However, if you start to search around on the internet for the most popular brands in America, Asia and Continental Europe, you come across makes like festool. I had not previously heard of them, but from the feedback satisfied users have left dotted around the internet, the next time I need to purchase a drill or multi purpose table, I’ll be checking out Festool as well.
Trans Continental Horses
As long term readers may recall, last year AlexC came over to Kazakhstan, and we tried to make sure she saw at least a few things that were interesting. One of the events was a kokpar match that the President attended, (a bit like polo, but played with a goat carcass, and wrestling!), they also had a display of horse-based acrobatics and some races. Being so far from America, I can’t see me receiving any Kentucky Derby party invitations anytime soon.
Deadlock Solved
Only in America… (at least I hope… ?)
Check out this article for details on how two ties in the Democrat election process were resolved. Although the use of playing cards to sort an even split in votes is interesting, I’m not sure it really depicts the utmost of respect for a democratic process… What do you think? In the end, the loser in cards (Mrs Clinton) did not suffer from this particular game of luck, I’m sure there must be better, more intelligent ways to sort future ties.
Aliyev Found Guilty, Even If Not Actually Present
Thanks to KZBlog for the heads up on this (check the post here) matter, as many will remember, Rakhat Aliyev fled to Austria to evade the Kazakh authorities, when he was finally accused of a range of crimes. See this search for previous posts that mention him, within this blog. The part about a separate military tribunal for the charges of planning a coup are new to me; though with America having previously proposed this sort of arrangement for terrorists, I suppose the Kazakh government judiciary has an answer ready for those that accuse it again of lack of transparency…

Three For Two Offer
If you are planning a break before 29th February next year (hmm, so it is a leap year then…), perhaps for Valentines Day, you may well be interesting in a special offer currently being run by a group of hotels & bed and breakfasts on Amelia Island.
If you’ve not come across the area before, either click on the following Lodging Special link, or check a map of America. Find Florida, go to the North-East corner, and hover just a little out into the ocean. The last island, just before you cross into Georgia, is where you are looking for.
The offer itself is quite simple - book three consecutive nights, and only pay for two! For details on which establishments are running this offer, check the link, and whilst you are there, see just what attractions are listed, to further entice you to visit. If you were to book for a break in the next fortnight or so, you would find that Santa is throwing a story book party, and Walton may well be very tempted, as they will be showing that Yuletide classic “It’s A Wonderful Life” in an outdoor cinema.
If you are a history buff, then make sure you take a moment to look into the fascinating changes this island has seen, with 8 different flags having flown the mast in this area, from Spain to Britain, and Mexico to France, it seems that many nations have found this destination alluring. Who am I to argue?
