Despite multiple articles on the subject, coverage on Wikipedia, Snopes and other urban myth busting sites, Oxfordshire police explained he simply passed on an e-mail he had received from another internal source.
Understandably he had childrens’ best interests at heart, but you would have though that someone new to a position would have received some sort of training on which procedures to follow before sending external e-mails?
