Riding On The Railings

Category: VideosChrisM @ 2:15 am

I’m about to head to be, so don’t have a lot of time to write a description for this video, but if you have a spare couple of minutes, please do watch the video. If you’re really pressed for time, I think the interesting stunts are performed from around the one minute mark. If the whole world already knows about Danny MacAskill and Inspired Bicycles, and I’m just the last to come across this clip from YouTube, my apologies.

WOW !!! ah if only I kept up the practice on the BMX, I mastered table tops and bunny hops, all the stuff he does is just one small step up surely 🙂

  2. ChrisM says:

    lmao.

I can see bunny hops being useful with Astana roads and pavements/curbs, but I’m not 100% sure you’d be able to leap up to his skill level with only a small amount of increase in skill and practice.

Many, many, many years ago (back in Yeovil), I pioneered the super man move that freestyle motorbikers now use to wow the crowds. On my bike obviously, down at the Yeovil BMX track. However, unlike the wusses that parade around on TV, I didn’t bother holding onto my bike during the trick. I would regularly pedal as fast as possible up to a jump, glide into the air, start flying, and have the bike go one way, and my body the other. My landings didn’t seem as elegant as theirs though, I normally ended up with a mouth full of grit and a bike some 10 metres away. Still have a few little scars on my knees to remind me. Back then I don’t think anyone had heard of bike helmets, let alone wore them!
Could explain a few things I guess.

so the superman move was you all the time, photograph your war wounds and publish them !

I’d have to shave my legs first 😉
