PLUS loans

(USA Relevant)

I remember from my university days what it was like waiting for the term’s instalment of your student loan. Until that point, you basically chose between eating a good meal or two each day, or going out. Strangely enough, going out often seemed to win that particular battle :)
When the ATM finally showed that the deposit had been made, it was really good to know that most eventualities could be covered, and if you needed to go out and buy a textbook, you would not necessarily have to wait for a second hand edition to appear on the community notice boards on campus.

Parent Plus Loans

If you or your child is looking for some assistance in finance concerning their college years, be it monetary or purely informational, then check out FinancialAid.com. They offer details on all aspects, including PLUS loans, which can cover up to 100% of your college costs, in many cases.

When you look over the site, make sure you check out the scholarship section - if you are eligible for the many scholarships in existence, you may not even need to take out a loan!

For those of you who do not need assistance in funding your child’s undergraduate education, the site is still of use - many parents choose to take out PLUS loans and then simply deposit the money into investments. Why? Because the interest rate applicable to federal student loans is comparatively low, the cash can simply earn you money on top of the cost of the loan itself.
