Oscar Rescues Cold Balls

Category: In The MediaChrisM @ 8:33 pm

Fife-based dog Oscar had a surprise for the vet who examined him. His owner had taken Oscar in for a check up, after noticing that his stomach was rattling away. Although I’m not very knowledgeable when it comes to anatomy, I hope I’d have done the same had our cats made un-natural noises.

Oscar Ball Eater

It turns out Oscar has been gobbling down golf balls when out on walks, and not just stopped after discovering that they weren’t too tasty. A total of 13 balls were recovered, and the dog now sports a muzzle, in an attempt to prevent further surgeries being required. There was originally a photo of the golf balls in question in the BBC article when I bookmarked it, but it seems to have been removed.
Having assumed that this would be a pretty unusual tale, I found three other related dog surgery stories at the site – see the articles linked at the top right corner for tights and underwear munching mutts.

I wonder if the dog learnt the lesson or will carry on ‘eating’ the balls in the future.

Hopefully his muzzle will prevent future ball rescuing 🙂
