No Subs Yet

Category: Anna's Videos,Dasha&Kittens,In The Media,VideosChrisM @ 11:44 pm

However, here is the video I mentioned earlier in the week. I’ll see if we can get some sort of translation done by the weekend, but the basic idea is a discussion on whether black cats are lucky or unlucky. I’d personally be more inclined to say they are just cats. If you push me on the point, I’d agree some are black. However as the journalist was a friend, and she needed a foreigner to give her a nice quote on some interesting good luck omens we apparently have back in Britain, I was happy to oblige 🙂
You’ll see Karra and Muska in there, as well as Anna enjoying playing with the cats’ toy.

Cool. Congratulations to Kara on her first role.

I have never heard anyone say black cats are lucky, but I have seen that superstition in English lessons on superstitions.

    • ChrisM says:

Arrrgh, another person who spells Karra with one R – Ira does as well. I’m assuming that is how Kazakhs spell the word black? In which case I should probably try and convert my version. TBH, I’ve not heard of the sitting in your porch or sneezing at weddings superstitions either, but the lady interviewing is a friend, and needed a Brit to confirm her strange internet based research.

This is so cool. You, Anna, Kara and Muska are famous 🙂
I’ll have to send this to my friend at college for translation – she is from Uzbekistan.

    • ChrisM says:

Thanks, still haven’t had time to sit down with Irina and transcribe it. However, if your friend did fancy doing that, is there any chance they could note when each sentence starts? To upload subtitles, I need to match the text to a position in the video. Like

      ?

I was going to talk about Uzbekistan a bit, but then realised the answers I was interested in could get your friend in trouble back home. Which says enough about the country anyway…

      • Alex C says:

Lol, she moved to Australia for a reason. Says she’d never dream of going back and when I said you’d moved to Kazakhstan she was pretty surprised. But maybe Uzbekistan is different to KZ.

        • ChrisM says:

Definitely a different sort of place. Statistically speaking, you may still find yourself in physical pain if you’re an active political protester or the head of a very large company/bank here in Kazakhstan, but nothing like the range and impact of the horror stories that come out of Uzbekistan.

Translated from the Welsh – it was something about Chris & pussy, but I think it must lose something in the translation!

    • ChrisM says:

And this is the mouth you kiss Mum with? Shocking!!!
I doubt Alex’s friend speaks Welsh, but I’m sure we can rely on you (or Oleg 🙂 ) to translate the English for us 🙂
