Making Joints With Any Sort Of Tobacco Will Be Outlawed

Category: Amsterdam,In The MediaChrisM @ 4:54 am

MAKING? LMAO
See this BBC article for a rather large typo, or very misinformed journalist. Although the BBC World television report did not contain this inaccuracy, the fact that the online version wasn’t checked properly is quite astounding. The idea that the Dutch are banning people from rolling their spliffs with tobacco is laughable. In case you haven’t yet heard, the Netherlands are following most of Europe by banning smoking cigarettes (and in their case alone, joints with tobacco in) in enclosed public places. I still want to know whether they expect all smokers who prefer hash to weed to use pipes, but I guess I’ll have to wait a while before returning to Amsterdam to further my research. It is a tough job writing this blog 😉

This news sucks big time! Not only are smokers despised world wide by being banned from public places but now tokers as well? What’s gonna happen to all the cafes? Or will it just have to be blunts all round lol. How can tobacco be bad but weed not? Doh!

I’m gonna go sit on my abo rock and “get high” (Australia is so Americanised it’s unreal)!

I’d say it sucks medium time… It just requires a little more planning 🙂 For example, if you go in the Winter, then you either need to take a good fleece, and then either frequent the coffeeshops that have outdoor seating, or roll inside, then go for a quiet walk. As you know, as long as you stay away from areas with schools, and don’t make a big thing about smoking on the street, you’re pretty much ok smoking as you walk. Or, you go any time of year and indeed just smoke blunts. Our last trip in April saw me rolling and trying out pure joints seriously for the first time. Other than the Nepalese temple ball, it went pretty well 🙂

The funny part about this report is that the Dutch are also employing a small army of “thought police” to monitor the coffee shops for tobacco. Now that could be a job I could do in my spare time ! Having given up smoking again (119th attempt) – I think I could benefit from deep sniffing around Amsterdam.

Deep sniffing around Amsterdam will probably cause a meeting for you with someone who was apparently looking for a long lost friend, last time I was there. Has anyone else met someone searching for “Psst Charlie Ex”?
