Can anyone confirm for me if it is just in America that people see destroying mailboxes as a fun past time for drunk passengers in a car, or have I simply watched too many films? The idea that residential mailboxes are a fair target for drunken fun does confuse me somewhat, I have to be honest. I think I would be tempted to try and electrify them during the night, though perhaps in such a litigious nation, that would not be smart?
Anyway, some of the commercial mailboxes I have seen look a lot more sturdy, as though they could withstand a few more baseball bat swings than others. I just wish the building maintenance guys would come and fix the lock on our (internal) mailbox, as currently anyone can simply check our mail. Not such an issue in a small block of flats I suppose, I just wish for a little more peace of mind I guess.
