Your articles work both ways: I read them to better understand the European way of thinking. ๐
BTW, zebra crossings in Moscow are way more awful than crossings in Astana. Ofte drivers don’t want to stop at all, preferring the โhorn the hell out of youโ option.
That article was originally published on this blog, back in 2007, although it was inspired by earlier posts (2006? – yep, confirmed as coming from posts in July 2006 originally). Re. the zebra crossings, I’m sure Moscow is worse, but you definitely also get idiots who don’t stop here in Astana still. They’ll swerve across lanes, trying to time their encroachment onto the pedestrian area with when you’re not in that particular section of the crossing. I’ve published a couple of articles (from this blog) over at HubPages, and been asked to write one more. The main motivator TBH is that I get a share of the revenue (if anyone ever visits them ๐ ) from the adverts on those two pages.
