Damn And Sorry

Category: PersonalChrisM @ 6:00 pm

Why damn? The electricity cut out again this morning. Firefox again decided to forget a lot of the recent tabs I had open, though the fact that it is able to recover them at all is a bonus I suppose.
Sorry? I had around 40 tabs open, and the more recent ones were a few posts I intended to respond to, or software products friends had recently published. So if I forget to link to you, leave a comment on your site, or generally not meet any promises I gave, my apologies – just send me a reminder 🙂

I’ve been using Chrome for several months. Though I’m still waiting when they finish the extension support, I believe Chrome will grow to be the best among browsers.

And yes, you can download a recent Chromuim build if Big Brother is bothering you.

I’ve got Chrome installed, but I use too many add ons for Firefox for Chrome to become my browser of choice for a while. If the PC/Chrome crashes, does it also recover the tabs that were open automatically?
So, are we seeing you (two?) any time soon?

Starting with version 2, Chrome has been doing pretty good work restoring after crashes. Extensions are on their way, some eager guys are already in extension development (you will need a recent Chromuim build to use them, however).

I still have no info about how the paperwork is going, so cannot say when we are going to go to Astana. October, most probably.

arrrgh. Tried playing with chrome – downloaded latest version, then beta. Tried enabling extensions. No joy.
Pages are taking noticeably longer to start displaying compared to FireFox 3.5, I can’t seem to access the chrome-ui://extensions area, quite a few net pages related to chrome’s extensions seem to be down.
Think I’ll stick to FF, until you come over and discover where I’ve goofed up. btw, chrome hasn’t installed into program files, but instead in C:\Documents and Settings\MY_USER_NAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe ?
