BoBoBo-Bo Bo-BoBo

No, my keyboard is not broken, nor am I falling asleep on it. Far from it in fact, as watching this animation is definitely not a good way to get to sleep - there is just too much going on.
In the same way as The Simpsons, Family Guy & Futurama, BoBoBo-Bo Bo-BoBo (yes, I had to triple check the spelling of it :) ) is primarily aimed at children, but has enough ‘in-jokes’ to keep any adult’s attention who are watching. Unlike the previously mentioned toons, this one is drawn in something similar to the Japanese ‘Anime’ style. Whilst this is not likely to put off younger viewers, those who have not grown up with this approach to cartoons may need to take a while to settle into it. It is worth the investment of your time though, as so many up and coming cartoons borrow heavily from this genre, if they are not produced over there in the first place.

(DVD Vol. #2)

The actual cartoon itself is something you will either click with quite quickly, or just as happily leave on for your children, and get on with other things. That said, other than the potential gross-ness of nasal hair and snot, there is no content I could find that was actually unsuitable for young people. If you would like to find out more, before deciding whether or not to purchase the dics, you should check out the Official Website.

From the episode I saw, there were scenes that had a cult-ish like group of bald people developing a beam that causes baldness. A bit of an issue if the hero has nasal hair almost 2 metres long! As far as I could tell, this show is presented in its original form, unlike the G-Force series I remember from the early 80s, when a Western company simply bought the rights to an Eastern animated series, and chopped up parts from multiple episodes to create entirely new stories. As my Japanese runs out after 2 words, I can’t tell how faithful the translation was, but they did at least make sense, unlike some poorly translated series I used to see on Channel 4 in the 90s.

Anyway, check out the site, and see for yourself if you would like to watch this cartoon. Let me know what you think…
