Not quite sure what to make of this one…
After a plane left Bournmouth (I lived there for a year) Airport, it encountered a swarm of bees who were sucked into the plane’s engines. An hour later, the pilot reported an unrequested surge from the engines. After reporting the incident, they returned to Bournemouth, where engineers ruled the plane was not safe to return to its flight.
This comes after a swarm of some 20,000 bees descended on Bouremouth Pier. Glad I don’t live there any more - bees scare me more than dogs or snakes for some reason. I can (helpfully
) give the advice of ‘just keep still, they’ll go away and not sting you’ to someone else with bees around them, but if the same insects get too close to me I tend to lose the capability of rational thought and start jerking around and running in random directions.
Anyway, enough of the confessions, here is the BBC report on the incident.
