BBC World Report On the Borat film

Category: In The Media,Kazakhstan,Personal,VideosChrisM @ 11:02 am

This is a little video clip surrounding the London premiere of Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan.

The audio isn’t perfect, as I had to raise the volume a little post-production, sorry. A reminder again, that FireFox users may experience a lack of audio/video synchronisation. Try viewing it in Internet Explorer for now.

Feel free to leave a note by clicking on the comments link below…

EDIT : If you find the first link to the video doesn’t work, please try This one instead. Thanks

EDIT2 : Wow, this page (well the alternative link for the vid) has suddenly eaten nearly all of my hosting bandwidth available for the rest of the month, so for now, it is the first link only. Leave a comment if people find problems with the first link, and I’ll try uploading it to youtube or something.

EDIT3 : Many months later I remembered to upload this to YouTube, so watch it all you like…

The video is just over 3 megabytes, the first file is hosted on a server that is occasionally slow, hence the 2nd link being added.

Thanks for the heads up on WebTwitcher Chris! (http://webtwitcher.excite.co.uk)

No problem, I decided on the spur of the moment to record the news item from the satellite receiver, I needed to check the replacement drivers for my TV card were working anyway… No dropped frames that I could see. (Original file was 720X576 uncompressed AVI, came out at 3.6Gb, so decided to re-size before uploading :>)

    Thanks for the preview!

You’re welcome. My posting links to this blog earlier today does seemed to have attracted my first ever comment spam blast though – 20 comments on random posts with links to dodgy sites. Hey ho, it was nice to see a real one in amongst them, thanks…

Ack, that’s a bummer and I can relate – I get about 400 spams a day in comments. But using WordPress (and I see you are too), there’s a way to filter them out. In the plugins page, you can activate “Akismet Spam Blocker”. I think you have to sign up at wordpress.com with an account in order to get a key code to enter, but that’s easy and free.

Thanks for the heads up, will give it a go later.

My friend, ChrisD, has just seen the film in the UK, I’m hoping he’ll write a review for us, here at http://www.chrismerriman.com.
Which parts didn’t you like, or if not specific scenes, which aspect of the movie?
    >>MissChatter, I enabled Akismet spam, and it has done a great job of picking up the spam so far, thanks again.

Glad to hear Akismet is working for you!

I finally saw the Borat film. I have to say, I was laughing out loud at several parts! I became curious which parts were scripted. Salon did an article that says What’s Real in Borat? which has spoilers if you didn’t see the movie yet.

The funniest/most disgusting part took place in a hotel when Borat and his producer got in an argument. I was laughing so hard my throat hurt.

I will have a look at the link, thanks, but not until Post-Xmas, when I’ll hopefully have seen the film…

I recovered the above comment out of my spam bin.
Although it isn’t really at aimed this post, the charity side of it has made me think I should allow it.

  16. Chris Merriman says:

This post is #1 on Google.com for Borat which parts where scripted and #1 on Google.co.uk for the correctly spelt version Borat which parts were scripted. (#2 on Google.co.uk for the incorrectly spelt version.)
Discovered this thanks to the newly installed plugin wp-GotLucky :>
