If you browse through YouTube fairly regularly, and have any sort of interest in Kazakhstan you can’t help but notice the amount of videos dedicated to nouveau riche motorists on the streets. They mostly seem to be recorded in Almaty, and feature incredible cars cruising around, basically using the roads as their own private race tracks.
It makes me laugh sometimes to think how they have seen exotic cars for sale somewhere, and then can’t really take them outside of the city - a lot of the motor ways in Kazakhstan are not suitable for cars built like a battle tank such as the old Ladas, or proper 4×4s, not the Toyota Ravs, but proper 4 wheel drive off road vehicles.
